The Buddhist stupa at Swayambhu in Kathmandu, Nepal is situated on a conical hill west of the city.  The ancient stupa is believed to date from the fifth century and is the most revered Buddhist religious location in Nepal.  It is also commonly known as the "Monkey Temple" by tourists because of a number of monkeys that live around the temple.  Photograph by Douglas ZImmerman
